At the currently ongoing Irish Billiards Open in Carlow, the Viennese player faces England’s Jonathan Marwood and Barry Russell as well as Ireland’s Tommy Murphy and Alex Puan from Singapore in Group G.
For CW, as Steiner is fondly called both nationally and internationally, this Level-3 event of the World Billiards Open Series, held at the Snooker & Billiards Academy of the SBI, the Irish counterpart to Austria’s ÖSBV, provides the ideal opportunity to acclimatize for the upcoming World Matchplay, essentially the English Billiards World Championship in the points format, which begins next Monday.
