The WPBSA Q Tour is once again coming to Vienna, turning Austria’s capital into a hotspot of the global Pro/Am Snooker scene from September 25 to 28, 2025. A total of 117 players from 28 countries will be competing, including eight Austrians.
After the Q Tour visited Vienna for the first time in December 2024 – where Chinese player Zhao Xintong, the reigning WST World Champion, claimed the tournament victory – the prestigious event, which serves as a springboard to the Main Tour for the best Pro/Am players in the world, will now take place as early as the end of September at the National Snooker & Billiards Academy in Vienna.
In addition to well-known former professionals such as the Englishmen Andrew Higginson, Mark Joyce, Barry Pinches and Alfie Burden, a total of 117 athletes, which marks 14 more than last year, will compete to prove themselves among the world’s best Snooker players outside of the Main Tour – a group that now includes Austria’s top player, Florian Nüßle, following his triumph at this year’s Q Tour Playoff in Antalya.
Representing Austria alongside the current leader of the Austrian Snooker League, Oskar Charlesworth, and reigning U21 champion Lukas Stötzer are also Thomas Janzso, Jérôme Liedtke, Patrick Stift, Philipp Koch, Richard Alge and Günter Kaschmitter.
Sahar Bakhshi (AFG) and Fidan Krasniqi (ALB) are also part of the player field, both currently active with member clubs of the Austrian Association.
The tournament begins on Thursday, November 25, with the first matches of the Last 128 round. The winner will be determined on Sunday evening. All matches are played as best-of-seven frames.
